Foundry Day Arts & Crafts Festival 2009

The Yellow Breeches Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen was originally organized in the early 1970's as the Cumberland Handcrafters Guild.

In June 1986, the Guild was chartered as the Yellow Breeches Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.  We chose to call ourselves the Yellow Breeches Chapter because so many of our members live near and draw inspiration from the beautiful Yellow Breeches Creek.

Our members represent all areas and levels of involvement in the world of fine craft, from professional artists to budding artists to people who appreciate and want to support fine craft in Central Pennsylvania.

The Objectives and Purposes of the Guild are:

  • To foster the appreciation and execution of handcrafts of the highest quality.
  • To encourage the study and practice of handcrafts in the community.
  • To support and expand high standards of design and craftsmanship via meetings, publications and exhibitions.
  • To assist our members in the marketing of their handcrafts.

Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month, except for June, at 7pm at The Mechanicsburg Art Center School and Galleries, located on Art Craft Drive (just off West Trindle Road), Mechanicsburg, PA.

Visitors are welcome at all meetings and we accept membership applications year-round. The only requirement is an interest in crafts.
