Boiling Springs, PA
June 2nd , 2018

Rain or shine, on June 2nd, more than 100 juried craftsmen and artists will showcase their wares along the west side of Children’s Lake at the 32nd Annual Foundry Day Arts & Crafts Festival. At this free event in the village of Boiling Springs – just outside of Carlisle – handmade jewelry, photography, fine art, pottery, furniture, decorative painting, leather work, enameling, woodworking, metalwork, doll sculptures, and fiber art will be among the unique treasures for sale. Foundry Day events also will feature the biannual Quilt Fest by the LeTort Quilters of Carlisle. The show will take place at the Iron Forge Educational Center from 9am – 4pm and feature over 200 quilts, raffle quilts, raffle baskets, vendors, demos, a boutique, and appraisals for a fee. Admission to Quilt Fest is $6.00. Visit the LeTort Quilt Fest Facebook Page for more information.

Food concessions along Third Street will include mouth-watering favorites and new offerings. Along with funnel cakes, gourmet sausages, crab cakes, fresh fruit, braided pretzels, apple dumplings, and blooming onions, attendees can indulge themselves with stone oven pizza, beef sandwiches, venison burgers, specialty teas, pulled pork, kettle corn and much more.

Also taking place at the Walnut St end of the food court area, Brad Bell will be performing classic country favorites from 11am to 1pm.

At the Gazebo on the opposite (east) side of Children’s Lake, you will find a number of children’s programs as well as additional events hosted by the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. June 2nd is National Trails Day, and this year marks the 50th anniversary of the National Trails System Act. In celebration of the year the Appalachian Trail became the first completed National Scenic Trail, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy will host conservation partners and volunteer groups who protect and maintain the Appalachian Trail and other trails. Visit the other side of the lake to learn about the other side of the National Trail System- the public lands surrounding the Trails. The 250,000-acre corridor of the Appalachian Trail and its surrounding landscape are rich in natural and cultural resources. Stop by to learn about some of the animals and plants that live close to the Trail. More details coming soon!

Times for entertainment will be posted on sandwich boards throughout the festival and on Twitter (@foundryday).
