Rain or shine on June 4, 2016 from 9 am – 4 pm, about one hundred juried craft and fine artists will be set up on Front Street along Children’s Lake, starting at the Memorial Clock Tower at the square and going partway up on Third Street. The upper part of Third Street becomes the Food Court with wonderful festival food vendors and local community groups.
This outstanding juried art and fine craft festival features pottery, furniture, fiber, jewelry, handmade brooms, decorative painting, leather, enameling, woodworking, blown glass, doll sculpture, photography, fine art and metalwork.
There will be a glass blowing demonstration on Third Street along with local high school students who will be working on their forge creating wrought iron items.
On the East side of Children’s Lake the Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s “Spread Your Wings on the A.T.” event will include a variety of family friendly activities focusing on butterflies and caterpillars. Activities include the Caterpillar Tunnel, a butterfly craft, Butterfly Bingo, Butterfly Sun catchers and the Annual Sleeping Bag races. Local outdoor recreation organizations will have information booths at the ATC with plenty of information to get families outdoors and enjoying nature together this summer.
Additional entertainment around the gazebo on the East side of Children’s Lake will include Dave Vogel’s “The Puppet Palace” puppet show from 10am – 11am, Kyle Zoll creating balloon animals from 11am – 1pm and Debbie Ishole’s face painting from 1pm – 3pm.
Free shuttles will be available from the Boiling Springs High School to the festival site. Handicapped parking is available at the bottom of Second St.
The festival is sponsored by the Foundry Day Committee, Inc., in cooperation with Boiling Springs Civic Association and the Yellow Breeches Chapter, Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen.
